Pupils who have been excluded from school often suffer from low self-esteem and worry about their future. Our Alternative Education Provision provides a safe and nurturing space where young people can regain confidence and learn useful, practical skills.

Who is the Alternative Education Provision for?
Our Alternative Education Provision is for young people aged 11-16 in North Tyneside who are at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from mainstream school.
What we offer
Learning plans in our Alternative Education Provision are tailored to the needs of each young person. In order to help them grow to love learning again, we offer activities that are enjoyable, engaging, and useful for the future.
Gardening and horticulture lessons
We learn better when our mind is healthier. And It’s been proven that nature is great for our mental health. Our community garden provides the perfect environment for pupils to flourish mentally and learn practical gardening skills
Joinery classes
Many learners who find academic subjects difficult thrive in practical ones. Our joinery lessons give students a fun, hands-on experience in an in-demand trade.
Music production skills
For the creative minds, we have our very own digital music suite. Here, students can express themselves and learn music production techniques, as well as DJ skills.
How to access our AEP
To access our AEP, your child’s school will contact the local authority’s education department. From here, they will then put a referral into ourselves.
