Last year, 2024, was another incredibly impactful (and busy) year at The Meadows. Overall, we were able to support over 600 local people with over 33,143 hours of activity , both in person and remotely. Below, you can find a further breakdown of what our community achieved in 2024.
How we make a difference
Activities for local children
Our Connected Kids Club is a key facet of our support to local families. In 2024, The Meadows staff & volunteers provided over 13,031 hours of activities to 120 children during term time and in school holidays.
After local residents also expressed a need for activities for younger kids, we were also able to launch our Mini Kids Club. In 2024, our team consistently supported 60 children aged 5 to 7 across the year for a total of 5,715 hour.
80 relationships with alcohol changed
During 2024, with funding from the NHS Integrated Care Board, we had the privilege of helping 80 people improve their relationship with alcohol. Our incredible team offered expert support by providing personalised one-to-one sessions, group sessions, alcohol reduction plans, and education on alcohol misuse.
Over 2723 of volunteer hours recorded in 2024
Thanks to our volunteers providing us with over 2723 hours of help, our Community Centre Community Garden continued to blossom in 2024.
Our community garden remained very popular with 1657 garden volunteer hours. At minimum wage in 2024, this would amount to £28,336.88 of help from our volunteer
The garden also played host to Level 1 Horticulture Courses, delivered by North Tyneside Adult Skills. Congratulations to everyone people who successfully completed the training!
