P.A.U.S.E – Saying enough to problematic alcohol use

It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to changing your relationship with alcohol. Our P.A.U.S.E programme offers a safe and supportive space where you can begin to build a better future for you and your family. We’ll get you started, connect you to the right people, and stay with you every step of the way.

Who is P.A.U.S.E Alcohol Support For?

P.A.U.S.E is for people and families in North Tyneside affected by alcohol misuse.

What we offer

Here are some of the ways that we can help:

Support and advice around alcohol misuse and its effects

Changing your relationship with alcohol begins with being aware of the risks. At The Meadows, we start by helping you understand the impact of alcohol misuse on your body, mind, and those around you.

Alcohol awareness, education, and support towards a reduction plan

As well as educating you on the risks, we’ll help you put together a plan to reduce your alcohol intake. Our team will get to know your needs and produce a plan that’s personal to you. Then, we’ll support you with each and every step.

Referral to other agencies for specific support

We want to find you the best help available. That’s why we use our contacts to connect you to support that’s suitable for your personal needs.

Support with routes to work through volunteering, training and other projects

A lot of problems with alcohol misuse stem from a feeling of lack of purpose. This is often due to unemployment.

Work is a great giver of purpose. We know so, because we love what we do! Our staff & volunteers work with you to find opportunities for volunteering, training, and work.

Management of debt and money issues

Alcohol misuse can negatively impact your bank account, as well as your wellbeing. We work with you to produce a plan that helps you manage your money in a healthier way.
